Went down to the local archery shop and shot the Mathews Switchback XT, Bowtech Allegiance, and the Hoyt Trykon. Right now I'm torn between the Switchback and the Allegiance. I'm selling my old bow and a couple guns over Christmas to get the money for one, and was interested what y'alls opion is.

I would say the Trykon, but you knocked that one out. My friend has a switchback and it is an awsome bow. Very smooth, and quiet. The only problem I can find with it is that you cannot change the drawlength.

They are all 3 top of the line, you will find joy in any of them:D

I guess it comes down to looks, whatever you prefer

hunter06,
I liked the Trykon, but I really didn't think it shot any better than the other two and cost $100 more. I really liked how fast the Bowtech shoots (seemed like it was hitting the target as soon as I released at 20 yards), but I'm still back and forth.

those bowtechs are really nice

I like the trykon, but it all boils down to personal preference. As long as you set them up properly they should all shoot equally well.

We cant decide for you. Pick which one you are most comfortable shooting and would want to carry into the woods with you.

Thanks guys. I think I'm probably gonna go with the Switchback. I liked the speed of the Bowtech, but I think I just liked the way the Switchback felt better. Plus, I was shooting three shot groups with the arrow shafts touching with the Switchback. I had to quit shooting, I thought I was going to tear the guys arrows up.

I guess more what I'm looking for is if any of you guys have one of these bows and if you've had any trouble with them.

It's Not A Passion,
I have an 05 Bowtech Allegiance 27in 70 lb setup since summer and have Not had any problems. it is backed down to 67lb.There have been Reports of limb problems with the 05 models. Most I have read about have been the Higher lb setup shooting under spined Arrows. The 06 Allegiance has some redesigned Features.
the Cams and limb Pockets were changed From what I have read.I liked the Bowtech because I liked how it stacked up at the Start of the Draw then let off.Man it is one sweet shooting Bow.Check out Archery Talk.com and there is alot of info. All 3 Brands you are looking at are nice.I had to pick between the 3 when I bought and picked Bowtech.Good luck with what ever you Decide.

My friend has the switchback and has had no trouble.

Well, the string popped off the cam one time but that was completely his fault...

Longbows are too............ long. I'd seriously like to get a nice longbow or recurve here someday, but only after I master bowhunting with a compound................ ok, that sounded stupid, you can't really master bowhunting. I guess I mean after I get better at bowhunting with a compound.
